●R Type Power Inductor is applied to switching-model power supply.

Known as SMPS, a switching-mode power supply is an electronic circuit. This kind of circuit converts power using switching devices that are turned on and off at high frequencies, and install inductors or capacitors to supply power when the switching device is non-conductive.

With high efficiency, the switching power supplies are generally used in multifarious electronic equipment in need of stable and efficient power supply, say, computers and other sensitive equipment.

●R Type Power Inductor is designed for linear power supply.

A linear power supply is capable of a transient response time faster than switch-mode power supply, and that’s why it is important in certain specialized areas requiring a swift reaction. Due to a large size of the transformer, directly proportional to the power output of the supply, a linear power supply is heavier than its switch-mode counterpart.
